Join me at Australia's largest Open Studio's event from the 13th to the 28th of September. I will be exhibiting at Commonage Pottery and Gallery @ Happs Winery and painting live throughout the course of the program. I'll have originals as well as prints on offer and would be happy to chat with you about commission works as well. Additionally, I am offering 2 fun filled workshops. Hi, my name is Annie Winchcombe...
Welcome to my website! My work is a heartfelt response to the environment around me. I am continually drawn to the natural world; the oceans, forests, landscape, energy and plants. Enjoying the complexity of layers and mark-making, I strive to create interesting, suggestive surfaces that reflect this interconnectedness. I have been influenced by the exploration of natural pattern, colour, collage and stitch, including Australian Indigenous stories and marks. My work evolves through process rather than planning, where I explore mixed media, paint and stitch, allowing the mediums and tools to inform the process. My intent is to create artwork that evokes beauty through colour and marks, so you might experience the same connection to the natural world that I experience.
